"I just wanted to take a moment and express my appreciation for the excellent training and instruction that I received at the Quest Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I am a law enforcement officer (work in Boone, NC) and I was sent to the NC Justice Academy in nearby Salemburg to attend a course for two weeks. While here I trained with Hakim Isler and it was wonderful. The quality of instruction was outstanding and the training environment was a very positive one.
I was really impressed with how much the students welcomed me and offered assistance in my learning experience. We were all training at a white belt / earth level, but they all showed humility and hospitality that one wouldn’t expect from white belts at your run of the mill / fast food martial arts school. The students’ attitude and demeanor was a direct reflection on the high quality of the instructor, and the Elite Training Center stands out among martial arts schools everywhere.
Being a law enforcement officer, it was also nice for Mr. Isler to relate some of the material in class to police arrest and control applications. It was as if the instruction I received was tailored for me and I really appreciated it. It is obvious that Mr. Isler has studied and worked very hard to be where he is as an instructor, and I appreciate his sharing his knowledge and experience with me and the other students. His expertise and extensive background in martial arts and combative concepts are evident in his natural delivery of the material.
So, my thanks to Mr. Isler and the students at the Elite Training Center for a great training experience and I intend to come back when I can."
- David OsborneI have been a member of the Elite Training Center under the direction of Mr. Isler for approximately 8 months participating in Ninjutsu, cardio, crossfit, and street survival. During this time I have achieved several personal goals for myself. When I started training I weighed approximately 238-245 lbs and was somewhat out of shape, especially for a police officer. After approximately 6 months of training I have reduced my weight to 219-221 lbs and improved my cardio endurance and strength quite substantially. During the period of July/ August 2008 I was diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic and was placed on medication to keep my blood glucose levels within the normal limits, but in November 2008 I was taken off the medications by my physician. I had substantially dropped my weight and body fat and no longer needed insulin to control my blood glucose levels. I now control my blood glucose levels through a proper diet and my continuous training at the Elite Training Center. I had previously tried out for a Federal Task Force, but was not selected the first time around because I personally felt I didn't have the physical endurance and stamina that I needed to have, but through my training and perseverance at the Elite Training Center I was selected last year after about 7 months of training with Mr. Isler. I am proud of my personal achievements thus far and have set more for myself for the upcoming year. With the direction and training that I receive from Mr. Isler I will surpass the goals that I set for myself. Training at the Elite Training Center with Mr. Isler is demanding and can be mentally and physically challenging, but if you give 100%, and Mr. Isler will take no less, you will see the results of your time and sweat.
- T. MorrisI started training about six weeks ago. I am 48 and have never had such an intense workout; it is the best! I found that I have more energy and feel better about myself. Hakim is a great trainer and knows how to push people to give that extra 10%. Without his guidance I would have stayed a couch potato and started having a belly. I have lost two pants sizes and can definitely see definition in my stomach and upper body. The cross training has taught me different moves for self-defense and I love the positive attitude that Hakim has, it radiates to his students. I would recommend this type of class to anyone.
- Steve McIntoshI ran the 5K yesterday. I was hoping to come in betw 35 and 40 minutes, but actually managed a 32:35 and a 2nd place finish in my age group! I had even walked 3 minutes. The best part is: no knee pain and no “recovery” problems/concerns/aches/pains. I believe the cross-fit/cardio kick boxing workouts have really helped.
- Janet S."I am thoroughly satisfied with the outstanding instruction I have received from Sensei Isler. Sensei Isler fosters a friendly and wholesome environment in which to learn and grow in the modern Ninjutsu tradition of To Shin Do. Since joining, I have increased confidence in myself and my abilities as well as respect for myself and others. I have developed a positive attitude towards life, a healthy body and a clear mind. I highly recommend this class for anyone interested in a martial art that is comprehensive, reality based, and will help you prepare to meet the challenges that life offers."
- Dale R. PonnequinI’ve always wanted to be able to get into/stay in shape without becoming bored with my routine. The cardio-kickboxing classes have been a phenomenal way to release aggression and get a great workout. The routine changes everyday, so my body is always guessing what will happen next! Our instructor (Hakim Isler) pushes us without being overbearing and keeps the classes fun. Also, as a female, I feel that it is my duty to be able to protect myself. Therefore, I also participate in the street survival and ninjitsu classes. Since starting the classes, I feel a lot more prepared to use my body as a weapon should the situation arise where I must do so. The Elite Training Center is not just a great place to stay in shape and prepare yourself, but also a very friendly environment where everyone makes an effort to get to know you. There is a very great feeling of a family. I love it here!
- kylan duke"The Crossfit Methodology/Cardio Kickboxing sessions are great for toning and getting that metabolism going again. This has been an awesome way to get back in shape and have fun while doing it. Hakim Isler is a motivating instructor who knows how to combine cardio and core conditioning exercises to maximize the cardio/crossfit experience. Changing the workout of the day keeps it fun and we never know what to expect when we arrive to work out. Also the school offers everything needed for training. "
- Katherine Bryant"Taking classes at the Elite Training Center has changed my life. Through the Cardio-kickboxing, Ninjitsu and Street Survival classes, I've not only lost weight by burning fat, but I've gained muscle, increased my strength and raised my physical endurance. I've had memberships in other gyms, which have helped me achieve results, but I've always grown bored with the repetition of those classes and weight lifting routines. Hakim does an excellent job of making every class, every training session, unique. On top of the obvious physical results, I've also seen an increase in my self-confidence and ability to handle myself in self-defense situations. Whether you're looking to get in shape, stay in shape, or learn how to defend yourself, the Elite Training Center has a program for you."
- Brian DukesI truely enjoy all of the classes that are offered at the Elite Training Center. From the knowledgeable and friendly staff to the welcoming familial atmosphere of respect. The crossfit method class is challenging, as are the cardio kickboxing, and the ninjutsu. You honestly get out what you put in. Starting and continuing these classes has had only positive effects on my life as a whole. It has helped me create a health-conscience lifestyle, making for renewed vigor, added confidence, and positive relationships. Thanks E.T.C.
